12 of the best restaurants in Copenhagen (2026)

In this list, we’ll share 12 Copenhagen restaurants worth knowing about. From affordable neighbourhood spots and hidden gems to social dining experiences, we hope there's something for everyone on this list.

1. Fanico

Fanico is one of our absolute favourite restaurants in Copenhagen.

Tucked away in Nordhavn, this Portuguese eatery with a French touch is the kind of place that feels special the moment you walk in: beautiful tiled walls, a menu written on plates, and staff who make you feel immediately welcome.

We went for the steak sandwich (their signature dish) and the octopus, and both were outstanding. The moment we left, we were already planning our next visit.

The location

Stubkaj 7F, 2150 Nordhavn

2. H3 Fiskerestaurant

H3 Fiskerestaurant is a family-run fish restaurant in Amagerbro, attached to the long-running fishmonger next door.

It’s a lunch and dinner spot serving some of the freshest seafood in the city.

The moules frites are legendary, the fish and chips are some of the best in Copenhagen, and if you are at least two people, the Seafood Platter is the way to go. Worth going out of your way for.

The location

Holmbladsgade 3, 2300 København S

3. Fabro

Fabro is one of the most popular Italian restaurants in the city and a genuine favourite among locals and tourists alike.

The menu is small, around four pasta dishes and a few antipasti, but everything is delicious. All the main pasta dishes are priced at 120 kr.

The only downside is that waiting times can be long, which also speaks to how popular the place is.

The location

Borgergade 134, 1300 København K

4. Tambayan

Tambayan is a Filipino restaurant run with real heart out of Amagerbro. The food is Filipino soul food made from scratch: BBQ pork belly, lumpia, halo halo, and ube ice cream sandwiches, among others.

It’s a small, busy spot with a counter-order setup and generous portions. A bit under the radar compared to some places on this list, which makes it all the more worth seeking out.

The location

Amagerbrogade 102, 2300 København S

5. Delphine

You might have come across Delphine on Instagram or TikTok. It is one of the most popular restaurants in the city and is worth the hype.

Mediterranean sharing plates in the heart of Vesterbro, with a menu drawing from the Greek islands and southern Italy.

Everything comes off a large Parilla grill or from the raw bar, and the dishes are meant to be shared. A lively place with a beautiful interior and great food.

The location

Vesterbrogade 40, 1620 København V

6. Gaza Grill

Gaza Grill serves Palestinian street food and has built a serious following, now with four locations across the city. Everything is made from family recipes.

The mezze and main dishes are the highlights, served as a pita menu, bowl, or salad. The food is as beautiful to look at as it is to eat.

7. Bar Moro

Bar Moro is a natural wine bar and restaurant in Nørrebro that has quickly become one of the most talked-about spots in the city.

The focus is on small, seasonal plates and an excellent selection of natural wines, with a menu that changes regularly.

While Bar Moro is definitely more on the expensive side, if you are after standout dishes, wines, and aesthetic interiors, it delivers on all three.

The location

Blegdamsvej 36, 2200 København N

8. Seoul Koreansk BBQ

All-you-can-eat Korean BBQ with a grill built into every table. Order from a tablet, the food arrives by robot, and you cook it yourself at the table.

Highlights include marinated bulgogi, spicy pork, chicken, kimchi, bibimbap, japchae, and plenty of side dishes.

It’s a great experience for a date or a bigger group.

9. Aamans 1921

If you want to try the national Danish dish, Smørrebord, Aamans is a top location. Located in the heart of the city, the restaurant is a bit more on the pricier side, but so are most places in Copenhagen.

Smørrebord is typically eaten for lunch and is at most places not even served during dinner time. We recommend booking ahead as Aamans is often very busy.

Other great locations to try smørrebrod in Copenhagen are: Schønnemann, Restaurant 1733 and Det Lille Apotek.

The location

Niels Hemmingsens Gade 19, 21, 1153 København K

10. Sanku Maots’ai

Sanku Maots’ai is a build-your-own hotpot restaurant that’s not only super tasty but also a very fun experience.

The concept is simple: you pick your ingredients from a large fridge (meats, vegetables, tofu, noodles, and more), choose your broth, and the kitchen takes care of the rest.

Portions are generous, and the price is reasonable for what you get. The restaurant does not take reservations, so on busy evenings you should expect to wait. That said, the waitlist system works in your favour: put your name down and you are free to explore the neighbourhood until your table is ready.

One thing worth knowing about the broth: the spicy option is seriously spicy. If you love heat, go for it. If not, one of the milder broths will serve you better.

The location

Fiolstræde 18, 1171 København K

11. Gemini

Restaurant Gemini is one of the more upscale options on this list, with a menu and atmosphere that reflect that. It also has the city’s best view of Lake Sankt Jørgens Sø.

It’s a step up in price compared to most of the restaurants featured here, but the quality matches. The concept is built around social dining, with seasonal menus served as shared courses, making it a great choice for a night out with friends.

If you’d like to try it without paying full price, it’s worth checking discount platforms like Early Bird before booking. Deals come up regularly and can make a special dinner significantly more accessible. If you are looking for other deal sites, check out our Instagram or TikTok profile for more tips.

The location

Gl. Kongevej 10, 1610 København V

12. Warpigs

Warpigs is a Texas-style BBQ and brewpub set inside a former slaughterhouse in Kødbyen (the Meatpacking District).

It’s a meat lover’s paradise, serving some of the best meat in the entire city. The pulled pork, brisket, spareribs, mac and cheese, and coleslaw are all highlights, and there are always 23 craft beers on tap, brewed on-site by Mikkeller.

The atmosphere in Warpigs is hard to beat any night of the week.

Flæsketorvet 25-37, 1711 København V
